A young Cuban has gone viral on social media after sharing a video on TikTok showing the precarious conditions in which he lives with his mother in Cuba. The images, which have sparked a wave of reactions, reflect the harsh housing reality that many families on the island face.

"Let me show you the house, well, my house too. Here is where my mom sleeps, and this is my bed," says the young man while pointing to a small room with two beds, worn walls, and makeshift furniture.

The tour continues through the kitchen, where a gas stove, blackened pots from use, and basic utensils can be seen. “This is my mom's little kitchen, this is the yard and the kitchen as well,” she explains, pointing to a rustic structure with wooden walls and a cracked cement floor.

Finally, he shows the bathroom, which consists of a broken toilet on an uneven floor: “And this is my mom's bathroom, that's a toilet and that's where she goes to the bathroom,” he comments casually, highlighting the lack of minimum sanitation conditions.

The video, posted by the user @elcubanitosinfiltro, has moved thousands of internet users, who have quickly shared messages of support, solidarity, and denouncements regarding the extreme poverty this family is experiencing.

The images reflect a situation that is not isolated in the country, where the economic crisis, the deterioration of housing, and the lack of resources increasingly impact Cuban households.
