A Cuban resident in the United States posted a video on TikTok to call out what she sees as a misleading trend among some Cuban influencers: showcasing fake luxury handbags on social media.

"I'm tired of the Cuban influencers. Down with the lies. I can't take it anymore. They need to stop what they're doing in the inbox, with the Chanel bags and the fake bags," she said, clearly upset in the video.

According to the woman, many of these content creators have been in the country for less than a year and "since they arrive, during the first week they have their first Hermès handbag."

However, he assures that these are imitations and not original items. "That is a copy. I guarantee you they don't know the original price of a Hermès handbag," he said, recalling that the value of an authentic one can exceed $21,000 and requires a specific purchasing process.

In her complaint, the Cuban woman stated that these handbags are purchased in Chinatown stores for around 300 dollars. "This way, you can have this handbag, as well as Hermès flip-flops and all sorts," she added, addressing the alleged buyers.

The video, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked an intense debate about the authenticity of luxury items showcased by some influencers and the pressure to project a high standard of living on digital platforms.
