A new magical look will arrive at Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World park in Florida, leaving behind its signature pink color to adopt a refreshed combination of more subdued tones.

During the “Destination D23” event held on August 31, company executives and creative engineers (known as Imagineers) announced that the iconic castle will receive a new color palette, as confirmed by the magazine People.

The changes will include grays, creams, blues, and golden accents, aiming to highlight the building's architecture and bring it closer to its original classic appearance.

Through the official blog of Disney Parks, cited by People, the company explained that the new colors aim to better capture the Florida sunlight and preserve the timeless essence of the park's main symbol.

Although an exact date for the start of the work was not revealed, Disney assured that high-durability paints, similar to those used in the automotive industry, will be employed to ensure resistance to sun and weather.

Currently, the castle has a light gray base, upper areas in pink, blue roofs, and its tallest turret in gold.

Additionally, shiny materials are applied to the stones to create a more natural effect, and greater shine is used on the golden details, especially on the needles, to reflect light.

This castle is one of the six central emblems of Disney parks around the world and is constructed from modern materials such as concrete, steel, plaster, and fiberglass, making it sturdy and durable despite its fairytale appearance.

The announcement was accompanied by the presentation of the next episode of the YouTube docuseries We Call it Imagineering, titled Building Castles, which will premiere on September 8.

Along with this news, Disney also confirmed that a new animatronic of Walt Disney will soon be added to the attraction Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, as part of its tribute to the history and innovation of its founder.
