They stole her car in front of her house: Cuban woman in Cape Coral recounts the difficult moment she experienced

A Cuban woman in the U.S. shared on TikTok the theft of her car in front of her house. The police located the vehicle at a 7-Eleven. The thief, a 16-year-old boy, will be prosecuted. The car suffered minor damage.

A Cuban woman residing in the United States reported on TikTok that her car was stolen in front of her house and said that, if it weren't for the rapid intervention of the police, she would not have found out until the next day.

"Hello everyone, yesterday my car was stolen right in front of my house, around 9 PM. At 11, a police officer was knocking on my door, and we hadn't even noticed," the affected individual recounted in a video posted on her TikTok profile @yili.life.

According to what he said, an officer went to his house and asked him what color his car was, and then informed him that it had been located in a 7-Eleven parking lot, after being stolen just minutes before.

The woman explained that the thief first tried to take her husband’s car, which was unlocked, but when he couldn't find the key inside, he opted for hers. During the escape, the criminal crashed and smashed the side mirror of the other vehicle.

The robbery occurred after the suspect abandoned another stolen car at a gas station, which allowed its rightful owner to alert the police. The report triggered an operation involving multiple patrols and even helicopters.

"It was a tough time for us. My husband was cooperating with the police, while I stayed at home providing them with the information they needed. They were very nice, came to collect fingerprints, and gave us all the instructions. At 3 a.m., detectives were still calling to gather more information," she commented.

Hours later, the Cuban posted a second video in which she revealed that the perpetrator of the robbery was a 16-year-old teenager who "just happened to be turning 17 in jail" due to the crime.

The woman confessed that that part was the most shocking for her, as she is the mother of two small children and found it hard to accept that such a young person was involved in a criminal act of that magnitude.

The vehicle was recovered, although with minor damages, and the authorities are keeping the investigation open.
