The fourth game of the subseries between the Villa Clara Leopards and the Santiago de Cuba Wasps was officially suspended this Saturday due to the heavy rains affecting the eastern city, as confirmed by local sports media and the official page of the Santiago team.

The rain started early in the morning and intensified throughout the afternoon, leaving the playing field in unsuitable conditions for the match, despite having an efficient drainage system that is already saturated.

In principle, the organizers propose the possibility of a double session this Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m., provided that the weather conditions allow it.

However, the Santiago team themselves acknowledged that this option seems unlikely given the current circumstances.

It is raining torrentially over Santiago and the ground is already saturated. Although it drains quickly, it is very unlikely that a doubleheader can be played tomorrow,” stated a note published by the Avispas team on their official channels.

The suspension occurs amid an intense rainy season in eastern Cuba, where significant accumulations have been reported and forecasts predict more rainfall in the coming days.

Fans will have to wait for the official confirmation from the National Baseball Commission regarding the rescheduling of the suspended game.
