An emotional video shared on TikTok shows the moment when a Cuban, identified on the social network as Yosuan Castro Almeida, returned to Cuba and reunited with his mother and grandmother after more than three years without being able to embrace them.
"More than 3 years without seeing my parents, I needed these hugs," the young man wrote alongside the images that quickly moved thousands of users on the platform.
The recording captures the moment when the emigrant arrives at the family home, surprising his mother at the door and enveloping her in a strong embrace filled with tears and emotion.
Seconds later, the moment is repeated with his grandmother, who breaks into tears upon receiving him and thanks him with a smile as he hands her a bouquet of white roses.
The video also portrays the mixture of emotions between joy, nostalgia, and relief, after a long period of separation due to emigration and the challenges many Cubans face in reuniting with their loved ones on the island.
The post has gathered hundreds of supportive comments, where other emigrants relate to the story. “There’s nothing like those hugs after so much time,” commented a user.
These types of scenes are becoming increasingly common on social media, where Cubans both inside and outside the country share the sacrifices and emotions brought about by family separation.
