In Cuba, requesting a recharge may be something completely commonplace, but in this case, it went viral. That is exactly what happened to a young man who messaged the influencer Kenny Robert with a plea that ended in collective laughter.
Hello Kenny, do you think you could put some credit on my account? I know it's a bit much of me to ask, my friend, but it's one of the needs that Cuba has right now. Don't raise my hopes or anything, and please don't make reels about it, that would be embarrassing for me, but I would really appreciate it," he wrote, with all the respect in the world, like someone casting a bottle into the sea hoping it reaches Miami.
Spoiler: yes, they uploaded it... and yes, there was a reel.
True to his style, Kenny, portraying his irreverent character Jessica, seized the opportunity and responded with one of his classic outbursts that has become trademarked on social media.
“Am I your aunt? No. Am I your mom? No. Am I your grandmother? No. I'm not going to put up with any nonsense. What do you take me for, T-Mobile, ETECSA?”, she exclaimed, her inner Jessica clearly upset.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but people over there keep asking me for recharges all the time. I don’t work at ETECSA!”, he concluded with drama and sarcasm.
But the story didn't end there. The young protagonist of the message, noticing that it went viral, quickly reacted in the comments of Kenny's own post.
"Noooo, now I really know that I've just made the worst mistake. Wow, how awful, man", he wrote, making it clear that he no longer needs a recharge... because now what he needs is a place to hide.
The video has generated thousands of reactions and laughs among Kenny's followers, who spare no criticism and are already asking for the next recharge to come with a bundle of memes included: “Instead of asking for a combo”; “Tell me if he still follows you”; “Oh little one, how could you think of that”; “But little and sweet dancer, how dare you when your profile has already been scanned”; “Kenny, give me a recharge and send me a Zelle”; “My love, but only you would think of that.”
