The Cuban singer La Diosa broke her silence regarding the lawsuit filed against her by Armando Labrador, and she did so in the most direct way possible: in front of the camera, with money in hand and a powerful message for those who had judged her without hearing her side of the story.
In a video posted on her social media, the artist explained everything that happened with Armando Labrador, the owner of the platform Cántalo TV, and asserted that, after months of silence, justice was served in her favor.
"This video is addressed to all my followers, to those who had patience, did not judge me, and waited to hear my side of the story. A few months ago, I received a lawsuit from Armando Labrador. His platform, Cántalo TV, which he operates himself, boasted about making it public, damaging my image and leaving me before my audience as a fraud or deadbeat, when the reality is very different," she recounted.
"Today, after several months and with concrete evidence, I can finally speak to you with the truth in hand. Justice has spoken once again, and the truth has shone through. Last week we won a motion where Armando Labrador sought to take away my car, an unjust action he tried to present as an emergency in court, without any legal basis or facts to justify it. The court made it clear that there was no legal reason for that measure and that my rights must be respected,” the artist affirmed.
“In a very difficult moment in my life, when I arrived in this country, I received a loan to support my first concert, from which I made three transfers to Armando Labrador (…) I have never refused to fulfill my real and just obligations. I have always intended to pay and have made significant payments,” emphasized the singer, who did not hesitate to expose Labrador.
According to his account, what happened between them was the exact opposite of what has been reported on social media: “The only thing I ever asked for was for things to be done fairly and honestly, acknowledging what I have paid, what was not fulfilled by the other party, and what justice determines is truly warranted. The agreement was that payments would continue as we worked together. But what happened was this: Armando Labrador, as my manager, arranged only one concert for me. Then he completely abandoned my career, limiting my work and leaving me with zero opportunities.”
“I had to manage all my music projects on my own, recording my videos, productions, and covering all the expenses of my career. Thank God I had help from other people, but I could never rely on Armando Labrador as my manager. Armando Labrador signed a representation contract as my manager for three years, and yet he completely abandoned me,” La Diosa emphasized.
For her, Labrador's intentions went beyond just the money: “He forbade me from mentioning him on social media, asked me to remove his contact from booking to manage my concerts, and broke all the conditions of the signed contract. My last conversation with him was to pay what was owed; he left me on read, and days later I received the lawsuit. His interest was never to collect justly, but to harm me publicly and discredit me as an artist on social media.”
With bundles of bills in hand and showing them to the camera, he said: “Here is the money that, according to Armando, I owe him and which he has refused to accept in order to set up this whole circus.”
In a firm tone, La Diosa concluded her message by thanking her supporters and her lawyers, assuring that she will continue with her career.
