A young Colombian woman went viral on TikTok after confessing that, after several years living in Miami, she feels that the city has "dimmed" her. Although she acknowledges that the place is beautiful and full of opportunities, she claims that the environment is becoming increasingly superficial and hollow.

“ I have been living in the United States for seven years, three of them in Miami, and something is happening to me that I need to share,” she says at the beginning of the video. “Miami is a really cool city, with good vibes, full of energy and possibilities, but I feel the need to leave. It’s too superficial,” she confessed.

The young woman, identified as Camila Lasso (@lasso11), explained that although she has grown professionally and financially in the city of the sun, she has also felt an emptiness that she can't seem to fill. “Sometimes you’re making money, meeting important people, going to the best restaurants... but you feel more and more alone and empty,” she said.

His words generated a wave of reactions among other Latinos living in the United States. “It’s not you, it’s all of us,” commented a Colombian user. “Miami is just about appearances,” wrote another. Many agreed that the lifestyle in the city can be as exhilarating as it is exhausting.

However, not everyone agreed. Some residents argued that it all depends on the environment and mindset. "I've been in Miami for ten years and I'm happy. The problem isn't the city, it's the people you surround yourself with," commented one user. Others recalled that in less central areas, like Kendall or Doral, there is a more peaceful and family-oriented atmosphere.

The video, titled “Does Living in Miami Drain You?”, has garnered thousands of views and hundreds of comments from Latinos who claim to feel the same. Some even shared that they decided to move to other cities in the United States or return to their home countries in search of a more authentic life that is less focused on appearances.

Amid the sun, the parties, and luxury, Camila's confession rekindled a conversation that many prefer to avoid: Is Miami truly a paradise… or a city where everything shines, but nothing connects?
