The Cuban singer Eduardo Antonio, known as El Divo de Placetas, surprised his followers with a powerful message on social media in which he announced the end of his professional relationship with the influencer and comedian Abejas Memes, with whom he had a close artistic collaboration.
In a video posted on his digital platforms, the artist explained the reasons for the breakup and made it clear that he will not work or interact with the popular content creator again.
“I have to share something with you that, as I always say, I never lie to my audience and I tell you things as they are. I just had a conversation with the manager of Abejas Memes, a wonderful woman, an educated woman who was looking for the best positive points for me to have a presence just to wish him the best of luck in the show he is going to have. However, the gentleman got upset and doesn’t want me to attend his show, he doesn’t want me to steal a minute of spotlight in his show. I gave him light and he took the whole lamp because he didn’t know how to channel it. I don’t need to steal a show from anyone,” she expressed.
The interpreter assured that October 26 will be the last day they will have professional contact, when Abejas Memes participates in an event at El Rancho Rey del Lechón.
“On October 26, he has a commitment with me at El Rancho Rey del Lechón, not just with me, but with the audience, who have been informed that he will be there. I need him to be present because that will be the last day he has with me an association like Carlitos, Macusa, and Carlitos' father; the relationship will come to an end, and from that day he will remove all the videos he has with me and with the businesses where he has announced me, and I will take down from my page all the association I have had with him because in life, one must be grateful,” the artist affirmed.
El Divo de Placetas also announced the end of the character that they both shared in their viral videos, stating that he will not continue with that dynamic or any joint content: “I have no need to be with a person who does not admire me enough, who does not value what I did with him, but the audience is to be respected. So, that character I created as Carlitos' dad, I myself am killing it, it's over. I found the real DNA evidence and I am not Carlitos' dad, nor Macusa's ex.”
He also made it clear that he will not control the opinions or reactions of his followers regarding the controversy, assuring that everyone is free to express themselves: “To my followers, I will only say that he thinks that I should control you, that I am inciting you to the things you have said. I know that what you have had is a reaction to what he did, because it's evident that he gets upset when he is talked about me.”
