A Cuban showcases the homemade antenna that provided internet access during Hurricane Melissa

A Cuban in Holguín created a homemade antenna to maintain internet access during Hurricane Melissa. His ingenuity, shared on TikTok, highlighted his creativity and ability to face challenges.

A Cuban identified as @elpelvico on TikTok demonstrated the ingenuity with which he managed to stay connected to the internet late at night, while Hurricane Melissa was hitting the city of Holguín, where he lives, with heavy rain and winds.

In a viral video, the young man appears explaining, amid laughter and gusts of wind, how he built a “homemade NASA antenna” to recover the signal.

" gentlemen, I explain that the pelvic area lost the signal, but with this homemade NASA invention, we are going to look for the signal again," he says, while holding the makeshift device out of an open window, in the rain.

Despite the danger and bad weather, the Cuban continues to broadcast live, narrating the progress of the cyclone with humor: “We’ll be live again in a moment, as I know everyone wants to see the cyclone… but I’ve got everything securely closed. Let’s go ahead so my house doesn’t blow up,” he comments with laughter.

The images show the homemade antenna, crafted from household materials, and the young man trying to maintain the connection.

Its occurrence sparked numerous comments on social media, where many highlighted the creativity and the Cuban ability to "solve" even in the most challenging moments.
