According to police reports from Miami-Dade County, the altercation took place on Tuesday, October 28, when Hernández was involved in an argument with his domestic partner—identified in the affidavit, but not publicly named—over possession of a mobile phone. According to the police report, Hernández allegedly struck the alleged victim on the head with the phone, causing a bruise on her left eye and scratches on her neck.
