The popular Cuban tiktoker Briana la Matancera (@briana_matancera) responded with a direct and thoughtful message to those who accuse her of "living well in Cuba" because of the items she showcases in her videos.

In a recent post, the content creator claimed that many users have commented that "it’s obvious she lives well" due to the pots and utensils shown in her kitchen, something she strongly refuted.

"Look, pots are material things. I don't know what living well means to you, but for me, living well means going to a hospital and finding the medication you need to save your life. That is living well," said Briana in her video.

The young woman continued her reflection by listing situations that, in her opinion, should represent true well-being in Cuba but currently do not exist in the country, or are services lacking the quality they should have.

"Living well means going to school and having a teacher delivering lessons; being able to buy your child the toy they want without worrying that your salary isn't enough; saying 'today I want to eat this' and being able to do it because you have it."

The influencer also clarified that the kitchen appliances she showcases in her videos are products that the government sold to the public years ago.

"Here in Cuba, almost all Cubans have kitchens equipped this way because many years ago they sold pressure cookers, rice cookers, and electric hot plates. But having these things doesn't mean living well."

In one of the most moving moments of the video, Briana asserted that true well-being comes from freedom, something that many Cubans long for. “To live well is to have freedom, to stand on a corner and shout to the four winds what you feel,” she said.

The creator concluded her message by asking users to stop judging her based on her appearance or the possessions she holds. “Material things are here today and gone tomorrow. And getting your nails done in Cuba costs two dollars at most,” she added with a touch of humor.

The video, which quickly went viral on TikTok, has generated reactions and supportive comments from Cubans who resonate with her words. Many highlighted Briana's sincerity and courage in expressing what it truly means to "live well" in today's Cuba, characterized by scarcity, low wages, and a lack of freedoms.
