The Cuban businessman and influencer Sandro Castro announced that he will begin organizing the main owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (mipymes) in Cuba this week in an effort to stabilize the price of the dollar, which has surged again in the informal market.

"This is an urgent task. I will start organizing it this week by creating WhatsApp groups with the major owners of mipymes, entrepreneurs, private sector, and foreign branches. We will establish a reference rate with a stable dollar value," he stated.

Fidel Castro's grandson insisted that the value of the dollar should be 400 Cuban pesos, using as a reference the rate that, he said, the Central Bank of Cuba applies in hotels on the island with a exchange of 370 CUP per USD.

He stated that “donations and tourists” are arriving in Cuba due to the upcoming December holiday. However, he mentioned that “the bank still does not have availability of dollars in the CADECAS,” which limits access to foreign currency through official channels.

Sandro has been promoting a campaign on social media against the independent media outlet El Toque for days. This Saturday, he accused them of earning 128 million dollars in a currency buyback operation in the informal market.

He assured that the increase in the dollar price this weekend, after several consecutive days of free fall, is due to the alleged manipulation by the independent media that publishes the rates of the informal market. The influencer urged the regime to censor that platform by all possible means.
