At the end of October, a 14-year-old teenager was shot in the city of Camagüey.

The shot came from the service weapon of an agent of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), who also wounded himself in the incident, according to a report from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in a news release in which it attributed the shot to an "accident" that occurred during an attempted arrest.

Around the same time, it was reported that in Perico, Matanzas, the police recovered several firearms.

The news, also published by the official Facebook profile Con Todos La Victoria, has raised more questions than answers due to the extreme lack of details provided.

According to the brief post from the mentioned profile, “several firearms were recovered in Perico” thanks to the “collaboration” of three citizens.

The message adds that it involves two revolvers of calibers 38 and 22, two rifles of caliber 22, and a caliber 12 shotgun.

The delivery is said to have been made by individuals who allegedly claimed that the weapons belonged to deceased relatives.
