A Cuban residing in the United States shared an ingenious method for saving money while shopping at Walmart on TikTok, and the video quickly went viral within the Hispanic community.

“Gentlemen, I’m going to show you a little trick,” begins the user @yesiu54. “You go to Walmart, connect to Walmart’s wifi, then go to where the box label is, scan the box label — you have to connect to the wifi first — and it will give you a different price than what appears on the sticker,” the young man explained in the clip, which has piqued the curiosity of thousands of users.

According to their demonstration, some products display a lower price when scanning the code with the Walmart app, allowing customers to take advantage of discounts that are not labeled on the shelves.

Several Cubans on social media celebrated the creativity of the trick, typical of the "creole inventiveness" that many develop to cope with the high cost of living, even outside the island.

Other users warned, however, that the price in the app is not always honored at the checkout, and it can vary depending on the location or inventory.

The video has garnered thousands of views on TikTok, where comments praising the ingenuity of the Cuban are multiplying. "Saving is about knowing how to search," wrote one follower.
