The Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel delivered a message on the social network X this Sunday to commemorate the 506th anniversary of Havana, urging greater care for the Cuban capital, a city that is currently facing a deep structural, health, and social crisis.

"La Habana of Everyone calls on us to take care of it as much as we say we love it. Let's not stop at congratulations and actions for just one day. It needs more care as it ages," said Díaz-Canel.

Additionally, in his message, he expressed a "grateful hug to those who dedicate their lives to caring for and rebuilding it. To those, congratulations", indicating that there is a group of Cubans and residents of Havana whom he is not interested in congratulating on this occasion.

While Díaz-Canel calls to "care for" Havana, the public services that his government is supposed to provide have collapsed; residents report a lack of resources and the regime's indifference to the basic needs of the population.

The crisis in the capital, the dirtiness of its streets, poverty, unsanitary conditions, collapses, the scarcity of drinking water, the increase in pests, and the deterioration of the urban landscape are a clear symbol of the deplorable situation the country is experiencing.

This year, Havana is celebrating another anniversary shrouded in neglect, poverty, and despair.
