A Cuban woman went viral on TikTok after sharing her experience at a restaurant in her city, where she joked about spending 100 dollars, although she later clarified that this was not the case.
In the video posted by the user @briana_matancera, the young woman humorously recounts her family outing: “I spent 100 dollars at a restaurant here in Cuba. As those of you who have been following me from the beginning know, we don't usually go out much, and we definitely don’t visit this kind of place often. But hey, once a year doesn’t hurt, and the body deserves a change,” she mentioned at the beginning of the clip.
The influencer showcases the place, small but cozy, and highlights the dishes they ordered: a piña colada, stuffed tostones, and a "spectacular Uruguayan," in her words. Her son is also seen enjoying the moment, along with the group singing happy birthday to another person celebrating in the venue.
At the end of the video, Briana confesses that it was all a joke: “It's not true, we didn't spend 100 dollars, as if I were crazy. But we had a great time; we even brought food home for Grandma.”
The post generated multiple reactions among Cuban users, many of whom commented on the contrast between prices on the Island and salaries in Cuban pesos.
Other internet users highlighted the positive tone of the video and the desire to "enjoy a different day" despite the country's economic difficulties.
The video has amassed thousands of views on TikTok and humorously and naturally reflects how many Cubans experience their limited opportunities for leisure and family relaxation.
