The Cuban gardener Leonys Martín continues to be on fire in the Mexican Pacific League (LMP), after hitting his ninth home run of the winter season this Sunday with the Cañeros de Los Mochis, a hit that allowed him to extend his absolute lead in the home run department of the circuit.

Martín, 37 years old, also adds 23 runs batted in and a batting average of .264, figures that solidify his impact on the green lineup and his relevance as one of the most well-rounded hitters in Caribbean winter baseball, reported journalist Francys Romero on the social media platform Facebook.

The Villa Clara slugger also set a new personal record in winter leagues: his 9 home runs surpass the previous high of 8, achieved in the 2024 season when he played with the Tiburones de La Guaira in Venezuela.

For a player with experience in MLB and Japan, this resurgence in Mexico confirms that Leonys remains an offensive force capable of making a difference, even in the twilight of his professional career.
