Cuban economist Celia López, originally from Havana, has become an example of perseverance and success in the United States after founding an elder care center in Miami, which now operates three locations.

In an interview with the program "Cuéntale a Marilys" from Telemundo 51, López recounted that she arrived in the United States in 2013, after leaving Cuba for Mexico.

His journey began working as an assistant to his sister in a senior care center, where he learned the ins and outs of the business and understood the importance of providing an environment of respect, companionship, and love for the elderly.

"I immediately knew that this had to be my professional project in the U.S.," confessed López, who during his first two years in Miami dedicated himself to working hard, saving, and preparing to venture out on his own in a sector that he describes as "very delicate, but full of beautiful experiences."

"This has become my contribution to humanity," he stated while discussing the social and emotional significance of his work.

The centers founded by the Cuban economist are characterized by their décor, which combines antique objects, photographs, and modern elements to create spaces where older adults feel connected to their memories and life stories.

In addition to providing personalized care, residents engage in recreational activities and therapies that enhance their mental and emotional well-being, contributing to a better quality of life.
