The Cuban influencer and entrepreneur La Mariposa, whose real name is Marllenys Reigada Ferrer, shared with her followers that she underwent a hysterectomy. The content creator decided to share her experience to convey a message of prevention and care to all women.

In the midst of recovery, La Mariposa shared her testimony and experience to raise awareness about the importance of listening to the body. “I want to leave a message to women: take care of yourselves, our bodies always speak and we cannot ignore them. Get your check-ups, your mammograms, your ultrasounds. Many conditions, including uterine cancer, progress silently,” she stated.

In the video, the influencer also revealed that she underwent a partial hysterectomy. “I kept my ovaries, but they removed what was necessary to protect my health,” she explained, expressing gratitude to her husband, who was by her side at all times: from her admission to the hospital to her first steps after the surgery.

Hours later, La Mariposa shared a reflection in her stories that deeply resonated with her followers. “Sometimes life stops us to teach us what we've been ignoring for a long time. Today I'm still recovering, with pain and my body reminding me of the major surgery I had, but also with a heart stronger than ever”, she wrote.

Her words sparked a wave of solidarity on social media. Hundreds of women shared their own experiences with this surgery or similar diagnoses. "I went through the same thing, and it was the best decision of my life," wrote one user. Another commented, "Thank you for reminding us that health can’t be postponed."

While continuing her recovery, La Mariposa has turned her personal experience into a call to awareness. Her message, far removed from the frivolity of social media, encourages women to pay attention to their body's signals and not to postpone medical check-ups that can save lives.

Wishing you a swift recovery, Mariposa!
