The leader of the popular Cuban group Los 4, Jorge Junior, sparked controversy on social media after posting a strong message directed at Norlam, the former vocalist of the band who was a part of the group for years before starting his solo career.
In a post shared on his social media, Jorge Junior reacted strongly after coming across, as he stated, comments made by the former member about Los 4.
"Now, while checking my YouTube, I come across this frustrated individual talking at this stage about the group that made him a person and took him out of the hole where he lived," wrote the musician.
The singer continued his message with a series of personal criticisms directed at Norlam, whom he accused of having "fled" from his family and professional surroundings
"Look, son, you didn't leave Los 4; you ran away from your family, your real family, the one that took you to the airport on your first tour with us and told you at the gate that you were no longer their son because you're a bad person," stated Jorge Junior.
The interpreter of "El oro es mío" also questioned the current career of his former companion, claiming that he has not managed to establish himself as a solo artist either on or off the island.
"You don't go to the United States to perform concerts, nor do you have tours in Europe because you are not liked. In Cuba, you are a nobody. You have settled in Lima, becoming the pet of an abnormal whose weakness is minors. And you are condemned to sing the arrangements of Los 4 for life, because the truth is you were never liked in this genre," he wrote.
The message, accompanied by several photos of Norlam, generated hundreds of comments on social media, many of which criticized Jorge Junior's aggressive tone, while others supported his account of the group's breakup.
Norlam was for several years one of the lead voices of Los 4, a group founded by Jorge Junior and known for fusing reggaeton with popular dance music. After his departure, the artist embarked on a solo career based in Lima, Peru.
So far, Norlam has not publicly responded to the statements made by his former colleague.
