Despite material shortages and blackouts that characterize daily life in Cuba, many Cubans do not give up on celebrating Christmas with creativity, ingenuity, and festive spirit.

This is the case of content creator @soy_jesspilar, who shared an emotional video on TikTok showing how she decorated her home for the holidays, adapting to the limitations of the moment.

"Since I can remember, Christmas has always been celebrated in my home. We would set up a little tree full of lights, antique ornaments, gifts, and lots of festivities. It was my favorite time of the year," said the young Cuban, who admitted to feeling frustrated this year because her tree did not match the traditional decor she had in mind.

However, her "prince charming" encouraged her to keep going, and like a good Cuban who seeks solutions to any obstacle, Jesspilar got to work. "The most melting things were the lights, literally," she joked, referring to the issues with the tree's lighting.

Even so, she managed to complete her Christmas decorations with creativity: she reused old ornaments, added a large red bow, and wrapped boxes to look like gifts, all while battling the fatigue of pregnancy and a virus that was affecting her joints.

"I loved the tree; now all that's left is the rest of the house," he commented proudly, showcasing the final result: a tree full of lights, colors, and memories, a symbol of the resilient and festive spirit of Cubans, even in the face of difficulties.
