U.S. President Donald Trump reignited controversy after blaming filmmaker Rob Reiner for his own assassination.
“Something very sad happened in Hollywood last night. Rob Reiner, a filmmaker and comedy star who was once very talented but was tormented and in crisis, passed away along with his wife, Michele,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social.
“The anger he provoked in others due to his enormous, stubborn, and incurable suffering from a mentally paralyzing illness known as Trump Disorder Syndrome” was the cause of his assassination, according to the Republican.
"He was known for driving people to MADNESS due to his furious obsession with President Donald J. Trump, with an evident paranoia that reached new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness," he said.
Reiner, a legendary actor, director, screenwriter, and producer from Hollywood, was found dead this Sunday at his home in Los Angeles, alongside his wife, producer and photographer Michele Reiner
The first indications suggest that the couple was murdered by one of their children.
Reiner was a critic of Trump, whom he said had brought back to the U.S. the dark era of McCarthyist persecution.
"That seems almost naive compared to what is happening in the United States right now," Reiner stated, as cited by EFE, in a recent interview.
