The Cuban presenter Frank Abel Gómez Bernal was arrested in the early hours of December 14 in Oklahoma County, in the state of the same name, following a traffic violation that led to a series of additional charges.
The arrest, officially documented in his police record, reveals a delicate legal situation that could have immigration consequences for the communicator.
According to the available reports, Gómez Bernal was arrested after three in the morning by law enforcement agents after making a left turn with the traffic light red, which constituted the initial traffic violation.
However, the situation worsened at the time of the police inspection.
During the procedure, the officers confirmed that the driver was operating with a suspended driver's license and that the vehicle's insurance was inactive. The verification of this information led to the formalization of several charges against him.

The information was publicly confirmed by their colleagues Destino and Fernan in the latest episode of the podcast Destino Tolk on YouTube, where they discussed the topic with visible concern.
Destino was the one responsible for breaking the news to the public and explained that he learned about the situation through an urgent message:
"I received a message from Leonor, Frank Abel's sister, whom I care for and respect greatly, asking me to call her urgently [...] and she gave me this terrible news: Destino, my brother is imprisoned," the communicator recounted.
“He was driving, the police stopped him, asked for his license, and apparently the license was expired […] You know how Frank Abel is; he suffers from nervousness and resisted the police,” Destino explained.
Fernan, for his part, provided more details about the charges facing the Cuban broadcaster:
"He is facing multiple charges; he made a turn where he shouldn't have, was driving with a suspended license, and had an inactive insurance," she specified.
He also noted that there was resistance during the arrest process: "He interfered with the officer while being processed for his arrest, in other words, he resisted the arrest."
Both communicators insisted that Frank Abel is not a violent person and attributed his reaction to a moment of panic.
"Frank Abel is not aggressive; it seems that nerves, knowing the problems he had and his immigration situation, caused him to resist, it terrified him," clarified Fernan.
These reactions would have resulted in an incident that added a fourth charge: resistance to arrest.
In this way, the arrest record includes a total of four charges:
-Improper turn on public road.
-Driving with a suspended license.
-Circular with inactive auto insurance.
-Resistance to arrest.
The main concern expressed in Destino Tolk revolves around the potential immigration consequences of the arrest. As they explained, they fear that once he is released from local custody, he will be handed over to federal immigration authorities.
“We fear that when he is released, the police will hand him over to ICE, because he has an immigration record due to his I-220A status and is awaiting court,” warned Destino.
Although the police report does not specify the amount of the bail, Destino Tolk has expressed his willingness to provide financial support so that he can face the judicial process while free.
An uncertain migration situation
Frank Abel Gómez Bernal, who is currently 46 years old, emigrated to the United States in 2022 after leaving Cuba with an official passport.
Since then, her immigration status has been irregular, which adds a component of vulnerability to any legal incident.
Immigration authorities often intervene in cases where foreigners commit crimes or violations, and this detention would place him on the radar of the relevant agencies.
At the conclusion of this article, the Cuban presenter continues to face charges in Oklahoma County.
