Carnota appeared this Thursday, December 18, in his stories to share, in the first person and without embellishments, how his appointment with ICE went. He said he arrived feeling very nervous, but he wanted to start with the most important thing: to thank his lawyers for being with him and supporting him throughout the process.

According to what he explained, it was an endless morning. He arrived at 5:00 a.m. and didn't leave until 10:00 a.m. “Clearly nothing happened to me because I am telling this story,” he said with relief. In the end, he mentioned that everything went well for him and that they even gave him a new appointment for next year.

Between one thing and another, he also left some very practical recommendations for anyone who might have to go through the same experience: go without accessories (neither watch nor rings), dress as decently as possible, and avoid wearing a cap or sunglasses. He mentioned that they ask for things like your address and phone number, and emphasized something he repeated several times: if you can, go with a lawyer, because “they represent you” and provide more security.

But the video didn't just focus on migration issues. Carnota confessed that December feels heavy for him; it's a month that makes him sad because of the family members who are no longer here, and just now everything has piled up. He shared that his grandfather passed away yesterday, which made him feel down, and on top of that, he had an appointment with ICE today… "a lot has piled up on me," he said.

At the end, he thanked those who expressed their condolences and also God, as he stated that in these days he has asked for “a lot.” He concluded with a message that sums it all up, already coming out and breathing: “Thank you, God, for always listening to me, thank you for being good to me.”
