A 19-year-old was arrested in South Florida in connection with a violent assault that took place at the residence of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine in Palm Beach County. The incident, which occurred in mid-November, involved the forced detention of the artist's mother while the assailants rummaged through the house.
Several hooded and armed men burst into the house demanding cash and the keys to a car. Although the rapper was not present at the location, his mother, who is around 60 years old, was forced to stay under watch while the suspects ransacked the property.
According to the report from Local 10, the investigation identified one of the alleged perpetrators as Pedro Rodríguez, a resident of West Palm Beach. Detectives were able to connect him to the case after analyzing security footage, cellphone data, and recently recovered stolen items.
Among the evidence found in the suspect's home are belongings associated with the rapper's partner, clothing items that match those worn during the assault, and a weapon that bears similarities to the one used in the crime.
Rodríguez faces multiple charges, including armed robbery in a residence, grand theft, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. So far, he remains detained without bail in a county jail.
The case is still under investigation as authorities attempt to identify and capture the rest of those involved in the assault.
