The political tension in Venezuela could lead to the return of Cuban medical brigades, according to a message sent to journalist Mario Pentón. The leaked text suggests the activation of an evacuation plan.

The growing political instability and increasing tension in Venezuela would be causing internal movements for a possible return to Cuba of the medical brigades sent by the regime in Havana.

The alert arises following the publication by journalist Mario Pentón, who shared on social media a message attributed to a Cuban collaborator in Venezuela mentioning the activation of an evacuation system and a possible return to the island in the coming weeks.

"We have to go to Cuba. The evacuation system has now been activated; it must be soon. What we don’t know is when, but it should be this month. Kisses and blessings. Your dad," reads the message disseminated by Pentón.

The content of the message has sparked speculation about the beginning of a gradual evacuation of the Cuban medical brigades deployed in Venezuelan territory.

The revelation occurs in a context of maximum political and military tension in Venezuela, following the recent arrest of President Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces and the increasing international pressure on the Chávez regime.

Cuba has been one of the main political and operational allies of Caracas for over two decades, including a significant presence of medical, technical, and security personnel. In fact, 32 Cuban escorts lost their lives during the actions by the United States to capture the dictator Nicolás Maduro.

In recent years, the presence of Cuban doctors - along with sports and cultural brigades - in Venezuela has been surrounded by controversy, both due to allegations of coercive working conditions and their strategic role within the alliance between Havana and Caracas.

In this regard, the disseminated message suggests that at least internally, precautions are being taken in anticipation of a possible deterioration of the situation in the South American country.

If confirmed, an evacuation of this nature would signify a significant shift in the Cuban presence in Venezuela and could have both humanitarian and political implications for the relationship between the two regimes.

For now, the message published by Pentón serves as an early signal, pending official information that would confirm the extent and accuracy of a possible withdrawal of the Cuban medical brigades.
