The Cuban reggaeton artist Abel Díaz Rodríguez, known professionally as El Chulo, was arrested on January 22 by agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States.

The influencer Un Martí To Durako shared a screenshot on his social media of the official ICE website where the artist's name appeared as detained.

Subsequently, journalist Mario J. Pentón confirmed the news and noted that, according to sources close to the musician, the arrest was due to an outstanding deportation order.

So far, no further details have been provided regarding the circumstances of the arrest or the location where the reggaeton artist is being held.

El Chulo had already been detained by ICE in 2018, when he attended an appointment at the immigration offices of Miami-Dade County.

For several months now, two other Cuban artists, Leandro Medina "El Insurrecto" and Leamsy Izquierdo "La Figura," have been in the custody of ICE.
