The popular comedian Luis Silva has gone viral with a video in which his beloved character Pánfilo Epifanio travels to France and is left speechless upon discovering that there was also a revolution in that country.

The video shows Pánfilo admiring the Eiffel Tower, while a tour guide tells him that the Tower was built long after the French Revolution.

The elderly man is still in awe.

"I never imagined that, since I saw everything so well-maintained, all the things functioning, the lights on at all hours, people happily walking down the street, the fast trains..." said Pánfilo, a very subtle way of associating revolutions with anything that entails neglect, destruction, inefficiency, and chaos.

But his astonishment grows even greater when the local young man tells him that the French Revolution took place more than 200 years ago.

"They got a good one. Take pride, because I know one that turned out defective. (...) It immediately started having problems, and it can't be returned now because there's no warranty," she said mockingly.

Luis Silva, who has made humor a tool to denounce the situation in Cuba, seized the opportunity to criticize the ruling Castro leadership.

"It worked for the manufacturers (...) but not for the end customer. I can tell you that. You don’t know where I’m coming from," he concluded with irony.

Recognized for his ability to address the country’s social issues through humor, Luis Silva is one of the most prominent critical voices in Cuba, even though he emigrated to the United States in December 2024.

The actor continues to create content from Miami, keeping the character of Pánfilo alive on digital platforms, much to the delight of his thousands of followers.

"Likewise, not all revolutions work well. It all depends on the surname of the Revolution," said a user in the comments section of the post.

"Our Pánfilo is something else; the word Revolution is truly concerning, hahahaha," noted another.

"Pánfilo, not all revolutions are the same; some destroy, while others build," expressed a third party.
