The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, stated this Monday that “none of those countries announced on television are safer than our country at this moment,” during a press conference in Caracas.

Cabello stated that Venezuela is "a country of peace, good people, calm, hardworking, humble, with a lot of dignity," and assured that the Venezuelan people are "honest and noble." In his speech, broadcast by the state channel Telesur, the Chavista leader called on Venezuelans living abroad to return to the country: "So welcome to all who want to come. We have always demanded respect, and we will continue to demand it, respect. If we respect each other, welcome; if we don't respect each other, there will surely be problems."

In his speech, the number two of Chavismo compared the security situation in Venezuela with that of other countries in the region. “Those who govern the Dominican Republic would want the level of security that exists here in this country; they would want it to come here so that they can learn,” he stated.

The leader also spoke about the "honesty" of the Venezuelan people, sharing the anecdote of some young people who returned a lost bag in Ocumare de la Costa. "That’s our people, good, noble, hardworking," he affirmed.

This Monday, the acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, dismissed the Cuban Leticia Gómez from the Ministry of Tourism and appointed Daniella Cabello, the daughter of the Chavista leader himself, in her place.

Rodríguez announced the change on Facebook: “I have decided to appoint the young Daniella Cabello as the new Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, who will now take on the responsibility of promoting the development and promotion of the National Tourism System. My gratitude to my colleague Leticia Gómez for her valuable work at the head of this important ministry. Venezuela, open to the world.”

Gómez's departure, close to Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, has been interpreted as a possible sign of distancing between the Venezuelan transitional government and the Cuban regime, which for years maintained direct influence in strategic areas such as tourism.

Daniella Cabello, 33, has held positions in institutional promotion and was sanctioned by the United States following the 2024 electoral fraud. Her rise strengthens the familial presence of Diosdado Cabello in the new cabinet, while the PSUV seeks to project an image of normality and stability in a country facing serious issues of insecurity and migration.
