The Cuban model Jhayna Duarte has created a stir in the fashion industry after starring in Chanel's new spring-summer 2026 campaign, a production where art and elegance merge in an aesthetic of neutral tones, sculptures, and studio lighting. Her participation marks a milestone for Cuban talent in international haute couture.

Born in Havana, Jhayna is now one of the most recognized models of her generation. From a young age, she displayed artistic inclinations: she would strut around the house in high heels, singing and dancing, turning each day into a little family show. At the age of 14, she began her training at the Entre Poses school, located at La Maison, where she studied modeling, acting, dance, and singing.

Her career grew rapidly, leading her to collaborate with designers from Cuba and abroad, and to walk the runway at events such as Fashion Weeks and Art and Fashion, the main platforms in the industry on the island.

In an interview with CubaPLUS Latinos, the model —who is also studying Sociology at the University of Havana— confessed that modeling has taught her the value of perseverance: “I have been in this profession for almost ten years, and each project has helped me grow. If you love what you do, you have to give your best version. That’s how life works too: give it your all until you feel empty.”

She particularly remembered the parade held at the National Capitol for the 500th anniversary of Havana: "It was the most challenging moment of my career. Descending more than fifty steps in high heels and a long dress was a challenge I will never forget."

In addition to the runway, Jhayna feels a strong connection to editorial photography, which she considers a form of art: “It’s about expression, emotion, and attitude; it’s not just about posing, but about communicating.”

Her career also spans other artistic areas. She is an actress trained at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), fluent in English, and studying French at the Alianza Francesa de Cuba. As an independent creator, she promotes the film and theater project El Sueño, with which she starred in the short film Los mismos zapatos.

Looking to the future, the Cuban model has clear goals: “I want to continue growing, cherish experiences, and take pride in what I have built. Personal and professional satisfaction is my biggest plan.”

With her natural elegance and determination, Jhayna Duarte confirms that the new generations of Cuban models are ready to conquer the world's major runways.
