Mexican congresswoman América Rangel criticized President Claudia Sheinbaum this Monday for sending humanitarian aid to Cuba and stated that the crisis faced by the island is not due to a natural disaster, but to communism.

Through several posts on the social network X, the legislator from the National Action Party stated that the Mexican Government acts as if Cuba had been devastated by a hurricane or an earthquake, when, in her view, the real disaster has been political and ideological.

Rangel noted that Cuba did indeed suffer a massive disaster, but clarified that it was not natural, but rather caused by decades of communism, directly referring to the system imposed by the dictatorship on the island.

In another message, the deputy responded to Sheinbaum's statements, who described the sanctions against countries that send oil to Cuba as unjust, and rejected that argument by asserting that the true injustice is the one perpetrated by the Cuban regime against its own people.

According to Rangel, the Cuban dictatorship has been suffocating its people for 67 years by keeping the population devoid of freedoms, elections, and a future, directly blaming the political system for the crisis the country is experiencing.
