The Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz raised awareness on his social media about a case of repression against the youth project El 4tico in Cuba by sharing a post linked to a protest song regarding the arrest of several of its members.
The information was initially shared by the profile @SanMemero on the social media platform X, which highlighted a video made by the Cuban rapper Carlitos P.U., in which he denounces the repression against members of the project El 4tico under the slogan "We are all El 4tico."
The post, which was shared by Sanz in one of his stories, amplified the reach of the message and brought the case to an international audience, joining other expressions of external support in response to reports of persecution against independent youth initiatives on the island.

Carlitos P.U., vocalist of the group Bendita Esquizofrenia and linked to cultural and alternative rap projects, has used his music as a tool for denouncing repression and the lack of spaces for youth expression beyond state control.
The mention of Alejandro Sanz brings the spotlight back to the situation of independent artists and projects in Cuba, in a context marked by detentions, harassment, and restrictions on the exercise of freedom of expression.
Sanz joined his voice with others who have denounced and demanded the release of the young content creators known as El 4tico. Haydée Milanés stated that it is “another testament to the horror” of the Cuban regime.
"Yesterday, these two young Cubans were arrested just for expressing their thoughts. Let the world know that in #Cuba, different opinions are brutally persecuted and punished. This is not new; it’s another example of the horror that we Cubans endure. Below is the message that Kamil left, anticipating this arrest," Milanés wrote on Facebook.
"Freedom of expression is just the first step; it allows you to voice your thoughts aloud. But it is only when there is democracy that this voice is not only heard but also TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. And there, and only there, is where freedom of expression gains its true significance and where real exclusions come to an end," said the comedian Ulises Toirac about this case.
