The Matanzas Cocodrilos were crowned champions of the 64th National Baseball Series (SNB) after defeating Las Tunas by a knockout of 11 runs to 0, a result that completed the sweep in the final and confirmed their dominance at the tournament's conclusion, according to the report.

The decisive victory was set in motion from the first inning when the yumurina offense opened the game with a devastating start: eight consecutive hits, "the entire lineup" crossing the plate without an out, and three opposing pitchers used in just that first inning.

In that episode, according to official media, Matanzas scored seven runs, a lead that effectively decided the match very early on.

Far from letting up, Matanzas scored again in the second inning with a home run by Ariel Martínez, and the offense continued with hits from Eduardo Blanco, Andrys Pérez, and José Noroña, in an attack described as relentless and uncompromising against the Tunero pitching.

On the mound, Yamichel Pérez opened the fourth challenge and, supported by the batting, led the performance that sealed the definitive victory to secure the title.

The note highlights that the sweep in the final reinforces the superiority displayed by the Cocodrilos during the postseason and positions them as a benchmark for current Cuban baseball, concluding the series with timely hitting and effective pitching.

After winning the title of the National Series, the Cocodrilos will represent Cuba in the Baseball Champions League Americas 2026, which will take place from March 24 to 29 in Mexico City.
