The acting president of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez eliminated this Sunday 7 organizations, including missions and foundations, that were part of the power structure of chavismo.
According to the announcement made in the Official Gazette, the New Frontier for Peace Socialist Mission Foundation, the Robert Serra Young Patriots Mission Foundation, the Presidential Office for Plans and Special Projects (OPPPE) Foundation, and the Propatria 2000 Foundation are being eliminated.
Similarly, the Bolivarian Revolutionary Movement Foundation of the Active Reserve General in Chief Félix Antonio Velásquez, the Strategic Center for Security and Protection of the Homeland (CESPPA), and the José Félix Ribas Foundation (FUNDARIBAS).
The dissolution of entities is due to "the need to make relevant changes that seek to satisfy collective interests," the decree states.
It also seeks to reorganize the functioning of the Ministry of the Presidency, as the Executive "must adapt its organizational structure to the new social guidelines and policies."
The independent medium Efecto Cocuyo specifies that 4 of the organizations abolished were created by the now-deposed Nicolás Maduro.
They further explain that the changes occur after several dismissals and replacements in the government apparatus or in ministries such as Tourism or the Ministry of the Office of the Presidency.
For the opposition party Primero Justicia, this movement represents "the dismantling of chavismo at the hands of chavismo."
"This cannot end up being merely a document aimed at making people believe that there is cooperation and reconciliation with the country," they warned.
