A young Cuban woman has sparked debate on TikTok after posting a video in which she lists several things that, according to her, “most women typically enjoy,” but that she does not like.
In the material shared on her personal account, the content creator states that she does not like to wear makeup, not even on special occasions.
"I really can't stand putting on makeup to go out," she states. While she recognizes and admires women who master beauty techniques and products, she explains that she doesn't feel comfortable when she wears makeup. "The times I've applied it, I feel like I'm not myself, I don't like it, I don't feel comfortable," she comments.
Another aspect he mentions is his lack of interest in going to beauty salons. He explains that while many women enjoy that space as a moment of relaxation or socializing, he does not find it appealing.
"There are people who can go to a lounge and chat, talk and relax, but I don't like that," she points out.
However, she clarifies that she does take care of her personal image, but she prefers to do it herself. She mentions that she styles her hair, does her nails, waxes, and undergoes other treatments without consulting professionals.
He acknowledges that economic savings also play a role, as he doesn't consider spending money on those services to be a priority at this stage of his life.
The video has generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users praise its sincerity and the defense of authenticity, others argue that the statements generalize women's tastes.
Beyond the controversy, the testimony brings the debate on gender stereotypes and social expectations back to the forefront, which, in many cases, continue to dictate how women should look or behave.
