President Donald Trump sent a direct message to the people of Iran this Friday amid U.S. military operations against targets of the Islamic regime.
Through a post shared by the State Department on the social media platform X, the leader stated, “When we finish, take control of your government. It will be yours.”
“United States backs them with overwhelming strength. Now is the time to take control of their destiny and unleash the prosperous and glorious future that is within their reach. This is the moment to act. Don't let it pass,” he said in a video posted on his official profiles.
The message comes after the launch of the U.S. military operation called Operation Epic Fury, confirmed by the White House, and in the context of increasing regional tension.
Trump's words represent an explicit endorsement of a potential political change in Iran, where massive protests against the regime have been recorded in recent years, especially following the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022 and the subsequent waves of repression.
So far, Iranian authorities have not officially responded to the statement made by the U.S. president, who suggested that the joint attacks with Israel overnight may have resulted in the death of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Jamenei.
