Mexican-Canadian influencer Nabille Giovanna, a content creator focused on travel and lifestyle, experienced tense moments in Dubai when Iran launched missiles in retaliation for the attacks by the United States and Israel.
The young woman was having dinner at a restaurant when the offensive began, and she managed to capture on video the interception of the projectiles midair over the city.
From one of the most iconic points of the emirate, with the Burj Al Arab hotel illuminated in the background, Nabille recorded the moment when Dubai's military forces intercepted missiles in mid-air. As seen in the images, several projectiles were neutralized before impact, although some debris fell in areas where well-known hotels are located.
In the video, the influencer described the distress of the moment: “Dubai is under attack, and I had to witness it in person. These are my videos from when we were dining, and the missiles started to fall, so we decided to go to my friend's house, which is somewhat far away. The most alarming part is that it’s happening right in the city; it’s not just happening somewhere distant, so it’s really scary. All flights entering and leaving Dubai are obviously canceled, so we can’t get out.”
Despite the fear of the moment, she expressed her gratitude to the authorities of the country on her Instagram account: “I witnessed the missiles intercepted by Dubai: yesterday I panicked, but I would like to express my gratitude to Dubai and its authorities for maintaining calm and prioritizing everyone's safety during times of tension. I feel grateful to be in a place like this.”
The images show glowing trails crossing the night sky while the city remained illuminated. The quick response of the defense systems prevented greater damage amidst a regional escalation that keeps several Gulf countries on high alert.
Nabille Giovanna's testimony went viral on social media, where thousands of users reacted to the visual impact of the intercepted missiles and the nervous reaction of the content creator to this difficult experience. However, in later videos, she shows that everything is now calm.
