A Cuban identified as Yasmani has gone viral on TikTok after starring in a video where he performs a song in the style of Romeo Santos in the middle of the street.

“Gentleman, we left with the Romeo of Cuba,” says the person recording the clip, moments before the man starts singing in a voice that aims to mimic that of the popular bachata artist.

The video has generated numerous reactions and supportive comments for the impromptu singer, who, according to several internet users, has been performing songs for years.

"At least he tried, support him"; "He spends his life singing, his name is Yasmani, I met him many years ago, blessings to him"; and "Wow, that's amazing, I have never heard someone so similar," were some of the messages left by users.

Other comments also sent greetings from their place of origin: “My regards to that beautiful singer. God bless him. My San Luis, you are missed.”

The clip highlights once again how social media has become a platform for many Cubans to showcase their artistic talent, even in improvised settings and amid the daily life of the Island.
