The young Cuban model and influencer Yurisleydis Mora, known on social media as Riri, reappeared publicly with an emotional message after surviving a serious accident that caused burns over a large part of her body.
In a video recorded from her home and published on Instagram, the 22-year-old showcased the physical scars she still bears, but also conveyed a message of gratitude and hope after spending weeks in critical condition.
In the images, he is seen with visibly damaged skin from the burns, with part of his arm and right shoulder still bandaged. It is also noticeable that he has difficulty walking, indicating that his recovery remains slow and complicated.
Despite that, her attitude is optimistic.
"I am Riri, and I want to remind myself that the most important thing for me is to be alive, that looking in the mirror is knowing that I’m still here, and that all I have left to do is to be happy and embrace my family," the young woman expressed at the beginning of her message.
In the video, the influencer once again introduces herself to her followers and shares the hard journey she went through following the accident. "I survived a direct contact fire accident," she said.
He explained that during the most challenging times, the doctors gave him a very delicate prognosis.
"They told me I had 30 percent of life and 70 percent of strength. To be honest, I didn’t expect to leave the hospital; I felt very depressed, very sad after what happened, after seeing myself in that situation," she confessed.
The girl also remembered the isolation she experienced during her hospital stay. Due to the severity of her condition, she remained in intensive care without the ability to receive visits or see her family.
"You motivated me yourselves, with messages of encouragement," he revealed, referring to the support he received from followers and people who followed his case on social media.
Despite the physical and emotional trauma, Riri wanted to publicly express gratitude for the support received during her hospitalization.
"I can only thank all those people, my friends, family, to those who didn’t know me, to my followers for giving me motivation, for supporting me, I have no words to express my gratitude," he stated.
The influencer explained that she decided to record the video to reassure those who were worried about her and to share her determination to move forward.
"I am making this video to let you know that I am doing well, and to tell you that I will find the strength where there seems to be none to build a new version of myself," he concluded.
A recovery that moved thousands of Cubans
Riri's story has generated a strong wave of solidarity on social media since the seriousness of her condition became known.
At the beginning of this month, the young was discharged from the hospital after spending nearly a month isolated in intensive care due to the severe burns that jeopardized her life.
The news was then shared by her friend and content creator Ana Maura, known on social media as @azzucar_morena_, who publicly thanked the many people who provided support during the process.
"I can only express my gratitude because seeing her as she was before and seeing her now is to believe in miracles. Thank you again and again to everyone who asked, who donated, and who showed solidarity. The process is not finished yet, but we have overcome the most important part: Riri is alive," she said emotionally.
Riri was hospitalized at La Benéfica hospital in Havana. The doctors maintained a reserved prognosis, as the burns affected large areas of her body, including her face and airways.
The first few weeks were especially critical. Her family made an urgent call for O positive blood donations, necessary for the medical treatments.
Many Cubans responded to the call, mobilizing to help amid a situation that sparked significant concern among their followers and within the country's digital community.
After overcoming the most critical phase, the young woman was able to return home, where she continues her recovery under the care of her family.
However, the process is still far from finished.
Riri will need to undergo a prolonged course of specialized treatment with burn dressings, healing ointments, and dermatological creams designed to aid in skin regeneration.
His loved ones emphasize that these products are essential for preventing infections, improving healing, and facilitating the most complete recovery possible.
In the context of medication shortages in Cuba, obtaining these supplies presents an additional challenge, making any assistance crucial for their recovery.
A well-known figure on social media
Before the accident, Yurisleydis Mora was a well-known figure in the Cuban digital landscape.
The young influencer and independent model collaborated with entrepreneurs from the Island on promotional campaigns and participated as an extra in music videos of urban genre artists.
On her social media, she used to share content related to fashion, lifestyle, and commercial videos, which allowed her to build a community of followers who are now closely following her recovery process.
After weeks of uncertainty, her reappearance with an optimistic message has been welcomed as a sign of hope by those who have followed her story from the beginning.
