The Cuban content creator Claudia Artiles responded directly to a criticism she received on TikTok for promoting products on the platform. In a recent video, the content creator explained that she monetizes her content because she has a clear goal: to secure the future of her son Marlon.
Artiles' reaction came after a user criticized her for promoting imitation brand glasses. Instead of ignoring the comment, the influencer chose to respond publicly.
“I'm going to respond to you because the most important thing on this platform is to monetize and seek dollars, and I need them to buy a house for Marlon,” he said in the video, which quickly began to generate reactions among his followers.
Artiles also defended his decision to sell products through TikTok Shop and explained that he prefers to save money rather than spend it on luxury items. As he stated, he is not interested in investing hundreds or thousands of dollars in brand accessories when he can allocate that money to his family goals.
“I’m not interested in spending 600 or 1000 dollars on glasses that serve the same purpose as these 16-dollar ones. I’m saving that money for Marlon’s house and to pay my taxes,” he stated.
In the video, the influencer also made it clear that she isn't swayed by luxury or appearances. “Let me be with my cheap TikTok clothes and my fake glasses. What matters most is the kind of person I am and the heart I have,” she concluded.
The clip generated numerous reactions among his followers, many of whom came to his defense and praised his stance. Comments like "That's how it's done," "There are priorities when you have children," and "First, a roof over your child's head" were echoed in the responses to the video.
