A Florida Lottery player won 10 million dollars in the Powerball Double Play drawing held this Wednesday, although no one managed to match the jackpot of 58 million dollars from the popular game.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K store in Leesburg, in the central part of the state. It was a Quick Pick ticket —an automatic selection of numbers— with the combination 6, 7, 42, 43, and 59, and the Powerball 21, which awarded the multimillion-dollar prize.
The Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the United States and typically awards million-dollar prizes in drawings held several times a week. Although the jackpot was not won this time, the ticket sold in Leesburg became one of the most significant prizes awarded in Florida during the drawing.
In addition to the million-dollar prize, the night drawing of Fantasy 5 also saw winners in the state. The numbers 3, 7, 14, 19, and 36 matched two tickets sold in Fort Pierce and Port Richey.
Each of those tickets won a share of the game's grand prize, with earnings of $61,924.
The first ticket was purchased at Stop & Final Grocery, located at 2233 N. 25th Street in Fort Pierce, while the second was bought at a Shell station at 8124 U.S. 19 in Port Richey.
Winners must claim their prizes at the main office of the Florida Lottery in Tallahassee or at one of its district offices, such as those in Orlando, Tampa, or Palm Springs, depending on the location where the ticket was purchased.
According to the Florida Lottery, most of these offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
The next Powerball drawing will once again offer a jackpot that will continue to grow as long as no player matches the complete winning combination.
