The President of the United States, Donald Trump, reacted to Venezuela's victory over Italy in the semifinals of the 2026 World Baseball Classic with a message posted on his social network Truth Social.

"Wow! Venezuela defeated Italy tonight 4-2 in the World Baseball Classic (baseball!). They are really playing well. Good things have been happening for Venezuela lately! I wonder what all this magic is about. State condition, number 51, anyone? President DONALD J. TRUMP," wrote the leader.

Venezuela defeated Italy 4-2 and secured its place in the tournament final, where it will face the United States in a match scheduled for March 17 at LoanDepot Park in Miami.

From the official tournament account, the World Baseball Classic highlighted the decisive moment with the message: “It all comes down to this!”, accompanied by the final phase graphic confirming the matchup between Venezuela and the United States for the title.

For her part, the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, celebrated the victory and progress of the national team in a social media post that included a video.

"Up Venezuela! Our National Team continues to make history by defeating Italy and reaching the grand final of the World Baseball Classic. Thank you for filling the entire country with joy and pride. Tomorrow we will see you in a sports face-off against the U.S.," he expressed.

In that same message, Rodríguez added: “Celebrating, Venezuela is all celebrating for the first time we have made it to the final of the World Baseball Classic, and tomorrow a healthy competition in the face-to-face with the United States. Go Venezuela! Guys, we will welcome them here as what they already are, champions.”

The matchup between Venezuela and the United States will determine the champion of the 2026 World Baseball Classic, in a context where the Venezuelan team reaches the final of the tournament for the first time.
