Cuban boxers Erislandy Álvarez, Lázaro Álvarez, and Yusnier Sorsano now know their opponents for the professional card organized by the World Boxing Association (WBA) on April 24 in Santiago, Chile, thus clarifying the uncertainties about their participation in the event.

According to JIT, the Olympic champion from Paris 2024, Erislandy Álvarez (63.5 kg), will face the unbeaten Dominican José Núñez (17-0-2), in pursuit of his seventh consecutive victory as a professional and with the mission of defending his Latin American continental title.

For his part, Lázaro Álvarez (61.3 kg), a triple world champion and bronze Olympic medalist, will put his undefeated record of 10-0 on the line against the Brazilian Jackson Furtado, in a match where he will aim to retain his American continental title for the fourth time.

Meanwhile, Yusnier Sorsano (69.8 kg) will face the experienced Argentine Jonathan Wilson Sánchez (26-8-1) in a match where he will aim to retain the Federlatin title in his second defense.

All the fights are scheduled for 10 rounds and are part of the development of these boxers within professional boxing.

The President of the Cuban Boxing Federation, Alberto Puig de la Barca, emphasized that these appearances represent new development opportunities for athletes, supported by the promoter Agon Sports, with which future ventures into the professional circuit are already being planned.
