A 92-year-old Cuban woman became the most emotional symbol of the Free Cuba Rally held this Tuesday in Hialeah, when a video showed her dancing and shouting 'Cuba Libre!' with a vitality that left thousands speechless on social media.

The clip, published by the account of Instagram @soloencalle8 ('Solo en Calle 8'), garnered over 12,600 views, 3,237 likes, and 119 comments in just a few hours. In it, the woman responds with full lucidity and joy to the interviewer's questions: "What does it feel like at 92 years old to experience these historical moments?" She answers without hesitation: 'No, no, no. It's a joy for everyone. And I know it's coming soon! It's on its way, as the song by Willy Chirino says!'

The elderly woman also revealed the weight of decades of exile without return: "I came from Cuba and have never returned. I've wanted to".

Born around 1934, the Cuban lived through the republican era, the Batista dictatorship, and the early years of Castro's rule. She has witnessed the triumph of the so-called "revolution," the Missile Crisis of 1962, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Special Period, the death of Fidel Castro, and now, at 92 years old, the most intense protests Cuba has experienced in decades, which herald a significant historical change.

They belong to the generation that built the Cuban-American community in Miami from the ground up. Between 1962 and 1974, nearly 400,000 Cubans passed through the Tower of Freedom —the 'Ellis Island of the South'— where they received medical attention, English classes, and financial assistance from the State Department.

That first wave of exiles transformed Miami into the economic and cultural hub it is today, with Calle Ocho as its main artery.

The video was recorded during the massive event called by Mayor Bryan Calvo and organized by the City of Hialeah in collaboration with the Cuba Anti-Communist Foundation. The event took place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Ted Hendricks Stadium on Palm Avenue, where dozens of leaders, activists, and artists from the exile community came together to raise a unified voice demanding political change on the island.

'With every step, with every shout of ¡Cuba Libre!, one could see a whole life of memories, pain, and hope coming to life in that moment,' wrote @soloencalle8 when posting the video. 'At 92 years old, he is not only present... he is reminding everyone why this struggle still matters.'
