The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Wednesday that his anticipated meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, has a new date and is poised to be a pivotal moment on the international agenda.

Through a message posted on his social network Truth, Trump confirmed that the meeting, initially postponed due to the recent U.S. military operation in Iran, will finally take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15.

"It will be a monumental event," the leader stated, emphasizing the significance of this face-to-face meeting between the two greatest powers of the world in a global context marked by geopolitical tensions and economic challenges.

In his message, Trump also indicated that the meeting will not be an isolated event. He explained that, as part of diplomatic preparations, both he and First Lady Melania Trump will later host Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, in Washington, which he described as a reciprocal visit.

The president emphasized that teams are already working on organizing these meetings, which he described as "historic visits," reinforcing expectations regarding possible agreements or redefinitions in the relationship between Washington and Beijing.

The announcement comes at a time when U.S. foreign policy keeps allies and adversaries on edge, and where any approach or clash with China has direct repercussions on the global economy, trade, and international security.

For many observers, this meeting could mark a turning point in a complex relationship, where economic competition, technological disputes, and strategic tensions intersect.

Meanwhile, the confirmation of the meeting is already starting to attract global attention, with eyes on what Trump anticipates as a high-impact event.
