Finding a barber in Cuba has become an increasingly difficult task, amid the shortage of services and rising prices on the island.

This is how Yenia Cubanita Mayea reflected in a video published on Facebook, where she shared that she had to walk through her neighborhood with her family without success to get her children haircuts.

"We walked through this neighborhood and didn’t find any," he recounted, until they finally managed to locate one and took a bicycle taxi to attend to the children.

In the comments, other users confirmed the situation. Lisandra Rivero stated that her son had very long hair due to the lack of barbers, while she inquired about the current prices.

The author of the video herself responded, before deleting her comment, that she paid 700 pesos for the haircut of her two children.

CiberCuba was able to confirm that in provinces like Camagüey, a basic haircut for men is around 500 pesos, but the price may increase if it includes designs or additional services.

Booking an appointment can cost between 200 and 250 pesos, and outside of business hours, the price can reach up to 1,000 pesos.

The rising cost of a basic service like a haircut reflects the everyday challenges faced by Cubans, where even simple needs require time, effort, and increasingly higher expenses.
