Holguín is preparing for a new edition of the Batalla de Barberos, a competition of talent, precision, and style that this time comes with a charitable purpose: to raise donations for the Oncology Department of the Pediatric Hospital in the province.

The call for entries was recently announced on social media by Genesis Barber’s, Ruben’s, and the Casa de Iberoamérica, organizers of this second part of the competition in the “Best Elegant Design” category.

The appointment will be on Wednesday, August 27, at 9:00 a.m., at the entrance of the House of Ibero-America.

Unlike the previous edition, the haircuts will be completely free, and voluntary donations will be accepted as a way to support the cause, transforming the event into a community experience that combines urban art, entrepreneurship, and solidarity.

The technical challenge will consist of replicating an elegant fade, previously showcased by the organizers on Facebook, which stands out for its sophistication and complexity.

Barbers must demonstrate their speed, precision, and creativity, working against the clock without compromising quality.

In addition to technique, the barber's demeanor and safety will be evaluated, as well as the cleanliness and presentation of their workstation, the relationship with the model, and of course, the final details of the haircut.

The prizes for this edition include professional products such as lacquers, dyes, rackets, and combs, as well as a certification recognized nationally and internationally.

All of this is free of charge for the participants, emphasized the organizers of the barbers' gathering.

The first edition of the Battle of Barbers took place at San José Park, where 18 professionals competed for the best fade.

The overall winner was Jorge Vaillant Despaigne, who received applause from the audience and recognition from the jury.

That event, also organized by Genesis Barber’s, was supported by the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the House of Ibero-America, and marked a milestone in the province by highlighting barbering as a cultural expression and a means of entrepreneurship.

Now, with this second edition, the competition establishes itself as a platform to promote young talent, professionalize the craft, and at the same time, contribute to a deeply human cause.

The barbershop in Holguín is no longer just about style and skill; it can also be about solidarity.
