The opposition leader once again mocked the military rhetoric of the Cuban regime, this time focused on the alleged capabilities of air defense and anti-missile systems.

In a post on X, he wrote: “Now I am indeed worried. The anti-aircraft and anti-missile defenses, as well as the special forces of the Castro-communist regime are ready to defeat the United States Army. What you are about to witness is very concerning.”

The message was accompanied by a video that mocks the military power of the regime. “Very concerning, indeed very concerning what I just saw, the anti-aircraft defenses, and also against missiles, of the Castro-communist regime, without a doubt, are frightening,” it states at the beginning.

Throughout the video, it deliberately exaggerates these capabilities: “They are ninth generation, capable of taking down any aircraft and intercepting any missile.”

It also mentions American weaponry: “It doesn’t matter if it’s a B-2 stealth bomber, an F-35 fighter, a Tomahawk, or HIMARS missiles, it doesn’t matter.”

In the same tone, add: "The Castros and Canel are ready; they are prepared to fight, to fight on a grand scale, and this has me very, very, very worried."

Regarding the supposed special forces, he says: "And they also have two elite commands, two elite commands, better than the Delta Force, they are incredible, better than the Rangers, better than the Green Berets."

The video concludes with several images that reinforce the satirical tone. One of them features a man alongside an improvised structure, accompanied by the text “Anti-aircraft defense of the Castro-communist tyranny.” There are also shots of singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez holding a rifle, with the label “Silvio Rodríguez Chief of Command: The Hypocrites,” and of an armed woman identified as “Chief of Command: The Gluttons.” Another image shows Miguel Díaz-Canel with the tag “The ‘No Home’.”

The statements come in a context where the Cuban government has insisted on military readiness in the face of a possible external aggression. Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío recently stated that the Cuban army "is always prepared and, in fact, is preparing these days for the possibility of military aggression," while Miguel Díaz-Canel has assured that "any external aggressor will face an impenetrable resistance."

Ferrer had already reacted to this type of message following Silvio Rodríguez's public appearance with a rifle given to him by the Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces, an incident in which he questioned the scene and the associated message and warned: “War is a very serious matter. Don’t make a joke out of wars, don’t treat them lightly. Speak a little more seriously, behave yourselves.”
